Splash controls it's National Organisation from Cairns, Queensland Australia.
"Here we are in 2010, and it only seems like yesterday when David and I arrived in Cairns totally broke, with the full intention of becoming beach bums, and remaining that way for an eternity.
It has been an interesting 12 years in Cairns, with expected ventures not yet eventuating, and totally unexpected concepts coming into their own in awesome fashion.
The one thing we both agree upon is that we are grateful to Cairns for providing us with the healing environment to recover and take back our business identities. Every character whom we met along the way (and that includes our competitors and some of the sheisters that ventured across our path) gave us something valuable to learn.
We have totally proven the power of the internet for marketing goods and services to any location from any location, by building a wonderful National and International organisation "Splash Structures"; and still enjoy an extraordinary ranking in major cities through Flair Web Design. We are now in the process of the relaunch of our Call Centre, with plans of enormous expansion in the future. We beleive the time is ripe to recommence expanding, as the economy has finally bottomed out, and is about to bloom again ... and Australians are OVER international call centres.
Our Web Design Services will become stronger with the re-inclusion of some strong IT Talent and Web Publisher Training Programs.
It's our turn to be the Blue Cow!"
David Burston
David began as a Victoria Farmer and Landowner and has over 25 years experience in the development, management and marketing of high level Agricultural and Aquaculture ventures. David is a QA Auditor, Business Development Consultant and Systems Developer. David is still keen to head a number of proposed fish farming and fisheries ventures in the East and West Pacific.
David changed direction dramatically in 2008, and now manages Splash Shelters Systems, marketing and supervising the install of industrial strength fabric structures to Australia and other countries, as far away as Africa . This year David will venture into a new patented design structure which is the brain child of Greg McInnes and himself.
Interesting bitz:
David was born in Euroa, Victoria and is a direct descendant of the Yates and Lane-Poole families. David's grandfather Charles Lane-Poole was one of the first environmentally aware foresters for Australia and New Guinea, whereas David's Grandmother, Ruth Lane-Poole was the original interior decorator of the Prime Ministers Residence, The Lodge in Canberra. You can read an interesting National Archives of Australia Account here: http://www.uncommonlives.naa.gov.au/
David's Great Uncles on the Yates side of the family tree were Arthur and William Yates, globally acclaimed artist and poet, revered to this day.
David's Grandfather on the Burston side of the family was one of the former Mayors of Melbourne, and every time you drink a Fosters Beer, you can be thankful to the original Barret-Burston Maltsters, the family company purchased by a feisty John Elliott in pre-mogul days.
An avid Toastmaster, David is presently Queensland Northern District Governor and has spearheaded a local Speech Competition called "I Love Cairns" in conjunction with Festival Cairns 2009.
