Bobby Limb

Bobby Limb was born on the 10 November 1929 the son of Mr and Mrs G. Limb. He was educated at Thebarton High School and his first employment was with the South Australian Railways as a fitter and turner.

He soon turned to entertainment as a career becoming well known on stage as a saxophonist, and the youngest big band leader in the world. He soon built himself a reputation on radio and television, both in Australia and overseas.

Bobby married comedienne Dawn Lake on 23 November 1953 and the couple had one daughter. Together they produced and starred in a series of hit T.V. Musical Comedy shows.

Bobby was awarded an OBE in 1967 and became Director of the Life Be In It Campaign and a member of the Bicentennial Arts and Environment Advisory Committee.
