Success is but a figment of our imagination.
Have you ever noticed that when faced with an obstacle or distress, your mind and spirit can
suddenly sink to the bottom of the pit of pits, in a matter of only seconds? when perhaps only a few moments prior you felt on top of the world ...
That proves that how we think influences how we
feel.
One of those cruel little jokes that the creator planted upon us in the designing process - if we allow our minds to venture towards boredom, anger or negativity - down we go, involuntarily to the bottom of an emotional abyss.
So what can we do about it?
It is often said - human intelligence cannot always be relied upon, because we centre our lives around
beliefs that can be very limiting, because
they are not true.
When I am down, depressed and feeling like the worthless human being that my psyche would have me believe ... I often reflect
upon
an empowering story that I was told some years ago by Brian Tracy ...
"An experimental Hoax was pulled upon a group of teachers and teenage students in a United States School somewhere in the
1970's-80's.
Firstly they gathered about 20 seemingly "hopeless" kids, that came from the type of family that most of us would expect a child to be "hopeless" from, such as drug addicts, alcoholics, low income etc.
They gathered these children into a group, where they explained that the reasons that they were not getting ahead at school, was because they were
"special" kids and in fact had super iq's that
required special attention by a "special" type of teacher, qualified to deal with
genius kids. They then approached the
parents to advise them of the same.
The second part of the hoax was to select a "hopeless" teacher, one who had a history of a lack of results with children. They informed this teacher that because of his exceptional teaching abilities, he was wasted in regular school and would
be of better service to the community by applying his "exceptional" teaching style to "special" children, and there just happened to be a group available.
The Hoax had a profound effect upon the belief structures of the children and teacher - and as the story goes, they not only outperformed their former classmates, but out performed the State ... "
The moral of this story is:
Surround yourself with those who
boost your character, not destroy it!
Feed your mind with positive data and move away from the negative ...
Play hoaxes upon yourself and others every day!
Every
success!
